Las Vegas, Nevada - Forget all the wishful thinking from the Mexicans boxing fans indicating that Juan Manuel Marquez will retain his WBC Super bantamweight crown when he trades leather with Manny Pacquiao during their much anticipated, big money second fight in this “sin city”.

Damp all the hype and hoopla and the prediction from these same people that Marquez will knockout Manny Pacquiao. Or at the very least counter-punch his way to a 12 round UD victory over the Filipino idol.

Drop all the advantages supposedly gained from running at high altitude at the Toluca Volcano and sparring with imported southpaw sparmates since December of last year.

All of these are useless for none of them worked. Read full story… »

Only Heaven Knows

heaven knows

While browsing through my old, old collection of Mp3s, I found this really nice song that I wanted to share with y’all. It’s a song that always reminds me of my past and a song that belongs to present. During the late 90s, I, or should I say, we, used to download songs from the Napster, KaZaa, and even in the IRC! and now Limewire and Torrent. But that’s the thing of the past. Nowadays we don’t download songs anymore, we blog. Read full story… »

Yahooo! New Year again!

“Time flies so fast when you’re having fun” so as the saying goes. And once again, Christmas came and went and we never noticed. The question is, why haven’t you noticed? Is it because you’re too busy with your career, busy with your business, with your love life? You’re hard to locate because you have to attend to a meeting, need to go somewhere for a presentation, finish the paperworks to meet deadline, close a deal and transaction or just spend most of your time infront of computer just like me ;-).

I know that I am not the only one guilty about this, but most of us are. We are aware that we really need that break, that sought-after vacation leave in Boracay you’ve been planning to have five (5) years ago but somehow, until now this is still a hard task to do. So with the coming of the new year, you will then take your pen and paper and write again your new year’s resolution with BORACAY in capital letters placed in number two spot with MIRACLE positioned in number 1. But as they say also, it is you who designs your destiny. At the end of each day, you will be the one to decide for yourself what is best for you. If you let circumstances dictate your life, then your much needed vacation will still be miracle to achieve. But if you will take the wheels and make decisions for yourself, then maybe this year, the miracle would be a reality.

ENJOY this coming year 2008!

Napanak I-diay, part1…(I’ve been there)

Last week-end our group, the Philippine Male Singers was given a chance to visit Bangued, Abra…one of the province located in the northern part of the Philippines. Our group was invited to sing an intermission number during their local choral group competition and our director Mr Robert Delgado is one of the judges. Also the following day early in the morning we render responses and a mini concert during their “simbang gabi” or early morning mass. This was courtesy of their beloved hometown Mayor and officials as they celebrate their holiday season. Thanks also to Jay-R.

abra-welcome.jpgGoing to Bangued is not easy because it will take us 9 long hours travel by bus, i don’t know yet if they have option to travel by plane. One thing that I was curious about is we have to pass through a tunnel to reach Bangued, and that tunnel is under the mountain. What if that tunnel collapsed or blocked? Surely trading of goods both incoming and outgoing of supplies in that town will stop. Well, that’s only my opinion.

Bangued is a landlocked municipality. The name of Bangued means “roadblock”. Read full story… »

My Dance Move…(how I wish)

Adventists Beliefs

The following beliefs are listed prior to the 28 Fundamentals on the church’s official website with the title “What Adventists Believe”. While the 28 Fundamentals are the official beliefs, other belief statements have been provided on the website, for example.

  • As a Christian church, Seventh-day Adventists are a faith community rooted in the beliefs described by the Holy Scriptures
  • God’s greatest desire is for you to see a clear picture of His character. When you see Him clearly, you will find His love irresistible.
  • Scripture is a road map. The Bible is God’s voice, speaking His love personally to you today.
  • Jesus is the one who never changes in a universe that always does. Jesus is Creator, Sustainer, Savior, Friend, God’s Son, and God Himself!
  • God’s vision for you is life as He lives it! God loves you, and wants to give you the highest quality of life imaginable.
  • In the heart of God is a place you can experience as home. God loves you, and wants to spend time with you personally, one on one, as two close friends.

Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and hold certain fundamental beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. These beliefs, as set forth here, constitute the church’s understanding and expression of the teaching of Scripture. Revision of these statements may be expected at a General Conference session when the church is led by the Holy Spirit to a fuller understanding of Bible truth or finds better language in which to express the teachings of God’s Holy Word. First Flight

korea.jpg

Eversince, flying has always been my dream.  I’ve been wondering what will be the feeling when you are up there with the clouds and when you look down, everything are all miniatures.  This dream came true when I had the chance to went to Busan, South Korea for a singing competition.

Busan (Pusan) has South Korea’s largest port and is located in the southeast part of the Korean peninsula. The most popular areas for Busan hotels are the Haeundae Beach, Yeongju-dong, and Busan Station areas.

They say that your first time experiences are the most unforgettable and sure enough, my visit to this country will be a part of my lifestory.  My feelings at that time were all mixed up maybe because subconsciously in my mind we have to focus on our goal why we are there or else we will disappoint not just ourselves, our director and most specially our beloved country as we are representing the Philippines.

As we all aboard Asiana Airlines around 3:30 in the morning on October 31, I am nervous and at the same time excited because this is my first time to ride a plane. It will take us 3-4 hours  before we reach our destination.  Since it’s almost daybreak and I can’t sleep anymore, I look outside the window and was so amazed how golden yellow the sky is at this time as the sun reflects it’s brightness.  As the plane descends, I felt a cold feeling within me, not just because of the landing but of what will be ahead of us.  At 8:00 in the morning, our plane landed and I thank God we arrived safely.

Exhausting Depressing and Stressful Avenue (EDSA)

Five days a week, I have to endure painful travels from our house to the office and vice-versa. You may ask why a simple travel would leave one to be in so much pain. Well maybe, you haven’t tried the highways of EDSA.

EDSA has been the battleground for us commuters for God-knows how long now. There is a struggle between drivers of vehicles for the quest to edge upon another to ensure that he will get to their destination ahead of another vehicle. These struggles are evident by the continuous honks of car horns as well as unspoken exchanges between drivers by means of sharp glances and gestures. Even passengers are sometimes involved in these exchanges in defense of their drivers even though they do not have any affiliation or whatsoever with them, but with one goal and that is to get to their destination quicker.

You can say that it is just normal to experience congestion during peak hours, but have you seen EDSA at 6:30 in the morning? The vehicles are lined up and one might think that the highway became a very long parking lot for them. You might assume that there’s an accident or vehicular malfunction somewhere ahead, but surprisingly, there’s none. It’s just plain volume of vehicles using the highway. There is no exact time as to when EDSA will be green and go, one just have to depend on his/her luck to brave the highways.

Well one thing for sure, EDSA and other major thoroughfares here in Metro Manila will be traffic free………. during Pacquiao’s fights!

Here’s a guide for those opting to use the WU payout method.

How to pick up a Western Union Quick Cash payment

1. Locate a Western Union agent that offers the Quick Cash service from the site http://www.payment-solutions.com/agent.asp.

2. Prepare the following before visiting the WU branch.

  • The amount of your payment
  • The Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for this payment
  • Your government issued ID (Passport, Driver’s License, TIN ID, SSS ID, etc)
  • Sender’s information:
      Google Inc.
      1600 Amphitheatre Parkway
      Mountain View, CA 94043
      USA

The payment amount and MTCN can be found by clicking on the ‘details’ link next to the Payment Issued line on My Account > Payment History in your Google Adsense account (see screenshot).

3. Go to the WU agent, show them the information in #2, and inform them you would like to pick up a Quick Cash payment.

A few notes:

  • You need to tell WU you are picking up a Quick Cash payment
  • You need to pickup the payment within 35 days or it will be credited back to your account
  • Don’t forget to bring a valid government issued ID, the sender’s information, payment amount, and MTCN
  • Payments can be made in US Dollars but you have the option to receive it in your local currency. Conversion rates depend on the rate used by WU on the pickup date

The Western Union Quick Cash method surely is a better alternative to Adsense’s Secured Express Delivery Checks because the former is FREE of charge (as opposed to Secured Checks’ $24 processing fee) and is available just one day after payment date (vs. Secured Checks’ 1-week lead time).
