Hachiko: A dog’s Tale

August 6th, 2010 jimer No comments

Come on, Hachiko. Let’s go, ” Eisaburo Ueno said as he walked out the door. The White Akita dog was already waiting for him, wagging it’s tail and ready to go. Every morning they walked together to the Shibuya station, where Mr. Ueno got on the train. in the evenings, when he returned from work, Hachiko was at the station waiting for him, and together they walked home.

Mr. Ueno was a professor at Tokyo University, and he took the train to and from work. For years Hachiko accompanied his owner to the station in the mornings. And in the evenings, when Mr. Ueno stepped off the train, Hachika already there sat waiting.

But one day in 1925 something terrible happened. The day started out as usual, with Hachiko accompanying Mr. Ueno to the railroad station, but while at work the professor had a sudden heart attack and died. That evening the train rumbled into the Shibuya railroad station, where Hachiko sat as usual. He eagerly looked around, but his owner wasn’t there. The dog whimpered and trudged home alone.

Hachiko faithfully returns to the same spot at the station the very next day, and every day for the next nine years to wait for his beloved master. During his daily visits, Hachiko touches the lives of many who work near and commute through the town square. He teaches the local people love, compassion and above all unyielding loyalty.

For the next 9 years Hachiko faithfully met the evening trains until he died at the Shibuya station. His faithfullness and devotion didn’t go unnoticed, and today, a bronze statue of Hachiko sits in his waiting spot outside the Shibuya station in Japan as a permanent reminder of his love and devotion.

Hachiko was loyal to his owner. If only we could be that faithful to our God–our Creator, our Savior, and our Friend. Maybe you have relatives who don’t believe in God and who try to get you to do things shouldn’t. Perhaps other kids tease you when you pray in public. Or could you get so busy that it’s hard to find time to read your Bible and pray regularly? Whatever the circumstance, whether it seems big or small, “remain faithful to Jesus.” Rev: 14: 12 – “This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.”

The Movie

Portrayed by Richard Gere as the owner in the movie Hachi: A Dog’s Tale (2009) – An American adaptation of a Japanese tale about a loyal dog named Hachiko.

This very special friend would accompany his master to the train station every day and return each afternoon to greet him after work.

Do u ever wonder, what will you do if you happened to find a magic lamp with a genie inside. And this genie will give you one wish, what would you wish for?

Considering the following Rules in granting wishes:

  1. You cannot wish for another for more wishes.
  2. You cannot wish for anyone to fall in love with you.
  3. You cannot wish for anyone’s death.

Bitter Result

May 17th, 2010 jimer No comments

The day after the election, the Philippines is waiting for the fast results while the numbers are getting bigger for Noynoy though it’s only a partial and unofficial tally. While on the other hand, Manny, Gibo, and Dick, like gentlemen, gallantly conceded defeat, and wished the winner, all the best, in all the challenges that lies ahead until 2016.

Unfortunately, after the polling day, a lot of their supporters are obviously still ranting & raving, wishing that Noynoy fails as President. Because we all know even though Erap has the history of graft and corruption against him, still until now he is still in the top list getting most of the votes. Read more…

THE MADZ ET AL 2010: CHORAL RHYTHYMS JAZZ FESTIVAL

April 21st, 2010 jimer No comments

Music plays a role in all of our lives, and is present at almost every stage of it with resounding beats and swelling melodies that echo our own emotions and ambitions. Even the paths we follow in life can be likened to music, whether we live by a beat evenly paced or staccato or even syncopated. We get the most out of life, though – as well as music – when we blend together with others’ beats and melodies to form a harmony like that of the best classical music or the grooviest jazz.

In celebration of music’s sheer uplifting and emotive power, the Philippine Madrigal Singers have worked with choirs from all walks of life with the Madz Et Al network since 1981. This year, the Madz recognize the smooth and moving flow of jazz music and how it expresses the ups and downs of our lives with “Choral Rhythms: The 2010 Madz Et Al Jazz Festival”, a musical gathering in the proud Madz Et Al tradition of spotlighting among the most hardworking and talented upcoming choral groups.

The festival runs from May 2 to May 8 at the Philamlife Theater, UN Avenue Manila, beginning at 7 p.m. featuring various choirs from all over the Philippines. Read more…

The Final Events

April 11th, 2010 jimer No comments

Final Events DVDYesterday (Sabbath) after lunch my family watched this film produced by Amazing Facts entitle The Final Events of Bible Prophecy. Actually, it’s my second time to watch this movie and every time I watch it, it reminds me of my life as of this moment. How’s my faith right now? Am I living in accordance to the will of God? is my path straight enough for Him to come right now and me being saved?

Yesterday, I feel so blessed because of two things? A very inspiring sermon by Bro. Michael Dalida that says, signs of the times are now being felt and seen, this are just small footsteps of the BIG thing that is coming and yet have we done our part in spreading the gospel of Jesus. He said, there are two ways or types how to spread the gospel of God, through pastors preaching and the second is the silent preachers which is our good books. This work is not just for lay evangelist who go house to house sell books and minister, but this work is for every members of the church which I was challenged. And second reason why I am so blessed is I’ve watched this video The Final Events of Bible Prophecy. So, I want you to watch it also and I am sharing it to you through this website of mine.
