The Book of Eli

April 30th, 2010 jimer No comments

Eli (Denzel Washington) has been on a journey for 30 years, walking west across America after a cataclysmic war that turned the earth into a total wasteland. The world has become a lawless civilization where people must kill or be killed. The barren roads belong to gangs of cutthroats who rob and kill for water, a pair of shoes, a lighter, or just for fun. Eli is a peaceful man who only acts in self defense, and becomes a warrior with unbelievable killing skills when he is challenged. After the war and the “Big Flash”, Eli was guided by a higher power to a hidden book and given the task of protecting the book and taking it to its final destination. Eli guards the book with his life, because he knows that the book is the only hope that humanity has for its future.

After watching the full movie, I started relating myself asking? how is my faith to HIM as I struggle my everyday journey? Am I still in the path carrying the task on my shoulder aiming to complete this race to win?

The movie closes with the final words of Eli’s last prayer, saying he has completed his job, won the race, and kept the faith, as we see Solara starting up Eli’s iPod, and begin walking the road on the start of her own journey… to find her mother, and spread the word of hope that Eli brought; the words of hope for mankind’s future… and shepherd them to where they can learn of the hope they almost lost.

Avatar – The Last Airbender

February 21st, 2010 jimer No comments

One of Nickelodeon’s biggest shows, with an appeal over an incredibly large cross-section of viewers, was Avatar: The Last Airbender. When you couple a big-name kids’ show with great storytelling and a huge following with the rolling slow-motion train wreck that is M. Night Shyamalan, you get The Last Airbender, coming to theatres July 2010.

The Last Airbender will send us out with Aang, the last of the Airbender race and heir to the great legacy of Avatars, masters of all four elements. Aang ventures forth along with some familiar friends to defeat the grasping Fire Nation, masters of the fire element who have conquered most of the planet. Check out the trailer.

Download Astro Boy 2009 – The Movie

November 28th, 2009 jimer No comments

This is the much awaited movie I am expecting this year 2009. Why? well it’s one of my favorite japanese anime cartoon character when I was a little boy.

Astoboy is a Japanese manga series first published in 1952 and television program first broadcast in Japan in 1963. The story follows the adventures of a fictional robot named Astro Boy and a selection of other characters along the way.

Now, DEViSE brings us a line R5 for Astro Boy. Previously we had some Telesyncs, but here’s a good looking R5 with line audio. Check out the sample to check out the quality. There’s subtitles included because Devise has no audio for a few seconds in the beginning of the movie!

Set in futuristic Metro City, “Astro Boy” is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist. Powered by positive “blue” energy, “Astro Boy” is endowed with super strength, x-ray vision, unbelievable speed and the ability to fly. Embarking on a journey in search of acceptance, Astro Boy learns the joys and emotions of being human, and gains the strength to embrace his destiny. Ultimately learning his friends and family are in danger, “Astro Boy” marshals his awesome super powers and returns to Metro City in a valiant effort to save everything he cares about and to understand what it takes to be a hero.

Children & Atheism in new Christmas movie

December 4th, 2007 jimer No comments

thegoldencompass_poster_int.jpgThere will be a new children’s movie out in December called “The Golden Compass”. The movie has been described as “atheism for kids”and is based on the first book of a trilogy entitled “His Dark Materials” that was written by Phillip Pullman. Pullman is a militant atheist and secular humanist who despises C. S. Lewis and the”Chronicles of Narnia”. His motivation for writing this trilogy was specifically to counteract Lewis’ symbolisms of Christ that are portrayed in the Narnia series.

Clearly, Pullman’s main objective is to bash Christianity and promote atheism. Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview that “my books are about killing God.” He has even stated that he wants to “kill God in the minds of children”. It has been said of Pullman that he is “the writer the atheists would bepraying for, if atheists prayed.” Read more…
